HAppY BiRtHdaY SiS!!! Oh yeah, and pumpkin bread

September 20th was Kerri's 11th Birthday!  Steph and Madison had dance practice, and Kerri and I had a soccer clinic, but it was still a great day. Our usual breakfast out was canceled due to all the activities, so we went to Chick-Fil-A after soccer; sorry Steph and Madison!:) Hee, hee. She also had some friends come over for dinner; she is saving her birthday party for when the Hughes are in town. We played with her new Wii soccer game, watched a movie, talked, and went to bed around midnight. I hope you had a great birthday Kerri! You are such a wonderful sister.  You are one of the funniest people I know! You always have a smile on your face, and I know it brings other people joy, including me! You are such an example to me in so many ways. Your generous heart, your cheerful attitude all the time, and how to play soccer!:) I love you so much, and can't wait till we are in 316 together. I love being your soccer teammate, basketball teambate, doing violin together, and of course being your sister! Hope you had a great birthday!

On another note, Stephanie really wanted me to post this, so here it goes. Last night, (Sunday)I wanted to make some pumpkin bread. And I probably did the dumbest thing in the history of cooking. On the recipe, it said to add four cups of baking mix. Having no idea what that was, I thought it was for the topping of the bread, so I didn't add it. Yeah, I know purty dumb. So here I was, 30 minutes into the baking of the bread getting discouraged that it wasn't becoming bread; I kept checking the oven, then setting the timer again for 20 minutes. Finally my mom said, " You probably didn't add enough flour." I replied back, "What flour?" And from there it was all laughing, and throwing away some gross pumpkin mush. Hope you enjoyed the comedy act of the week in the Wasko home:)

Nags Head Vacation 2008

Please enjoy the revised edition of our slideshow. The bad word has been omitted. We're sorry for any offense it may have caused. Who would have thought a song from a kids' movie would need to be screened?

We went to Nags Head August 24-31 with the Hughes and Williams families. This year was our fifth vacation with the same families to the same beach. We had a great time! Rather than blog about our trip, we've uploaded our slideshow. Be prepared; it's close to 13 minutes long--pictures of 17 people on vacation for a week are hard to narrow down, especially for Mel.

Always looking for a good place for a photo shoot of her favorite subjects, Mel took this picture in front of an old garage in Nags Head.
